Garlic Bread Bowls

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Spaghetti Filling

  • 8 ounces spaghetti cooked and drained
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce your favorite
  • 0.5 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut the French bread loaf in half horizontally. Then, cut each half into 4 equal sections, creating 8 bread pieces.

  • Using a serrated knife, carefully hollow out the inside of each bread section, leaving a shell about 1 inch thick. Discard or save the scooped-out bread for another use.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.

  • Brush the inside and outside of the hollowed-out bread bowls with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle the inside with grated Parmesan cheese.

  • Place the prepared bread bowls on a baking sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well.

  • Spoon the spaghetti mixture generously into each bread bowl.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and toasted, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra crispy bread bowl, you can lightly toast the hollowed-out bread before adding the filling. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
